Sustainability Policy
Marja Entrich, who founded the brand in 1943 in the heart of Stockholm, was in many ways ahead of her time, and today we would probably consider her an advocate for sustainability. She was a vegetarian and did not want to use sheep's fat in her creams, choosing instead plant-based and botanical ingredients of the highest quality. We want to honor her legacy and continue the production and distribution of Marja Entrich products in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
This means that we choose ingredients of the highest quality, preferably from Europe. Our factory operates in accordance with GMP, good manufacturing practice. We purchase our packaging from Europe to reduce transport. We choose plastic packaging without metal parts so that it is easy to sort for recycling, and the entire package is made of the same type of plastic. In the fairly near future, we hope that different types of plastic will be sorted to enable even more recycling. Our goal is to have packaging made from 100% recycled plastic. In the new launch of products including Eye Cream, we have chosen packaging that uses 70% less plastic. A thinner and lighter package that we believe is better for the environment.
We have paraben-free products at Marja Entrich and have chosen a combination of the best and gentlest preservatives. These are intended to prevent harmful bacteria or fungi from growing in the products. As for our oils, we use vitamin E as a protector so that the oils do not go rancid or age.
The only ingredients we have that do not come from the plant kingdom are beeswax and silk; otherwise, our products are vegan. Most of our products are scented, as this is part of Marja's legacy. Our fragrances contain both natural and synthetic fragrance substances, and we are also careful that our fragrances are not allergenic. From an ethical and environmental perspective, some of our fragrance substances are developed in the laboratory, without using vast amounts of flowers or cedar trees.
Marja Entrich always offers skincare of the highest quality, produced in Europe with respect for the environment. Below you will find our certifications and information about our quality requirements.
